Abstract
As campus relocation of Kyushu University started, city formation of the place around the new campus began. The author is helping the city formation by the Organization for Promotion Academic City by Kyushu University (OPACK), which was established to promote the city formation, by collecting information on industry-university cooperation as a university professor. This research considers the relationship between the industry-university cooperation and the contribution to society by university from the point of view of mechanical engineering in accordance with the experience and information obtained by the author's activities in this organization, and tries to find the ideal way of the industry-university cooperation. This is the first report that presents circumstances and schedule of the campus relocation of Kyushu University at first, and the feature of the place in/around the new campus next, and circumstances of the establishment of OPACK and its activities at last.
