Cruciform specimen method is one of tests evaluating fiber/matrix interfacial strength. The merit of this test is to eliminate a stress singularity of the interesting interface edge. However, a problem is remaining for the test; i.e. the interfacial debonding initiation location is unclear. This is the most critical issue for evaluating the interfacial strength because stress state is different for individual location. For that, an analytical discussion is desired to be done and the debonding initiation location should be specified. This paper focuses on where the interfacial debonding initiates from for cruciform specimen having various cruciform arm angles. By combing analytical and experimental results, the debonding initiation location is clarified.
