Abstract
A major source of noise and vibration in hydraulic systems is generated by hydraulic pumps. In particular, the fluid borne noise such as pressure pulsation and flow pulsation is a key point in order to attenuate the system noise. The pulsation source characteristics of a hydraulic pump can be described by the two inherent values, namely, the source flow pulsation and the source impedance. In this report, the two measurement techniques identify these two values experimentally are evaluated by changing the important system parameters.
