There is an urgent need to improve aftertreatment systems for heavy-duty diesel engine auto mobiles.The urea-SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system is used worldwide to reduce the emissions of NOx. But, one of problems urea-SCR system has is NH_3 slip from the catalyst.In this study, the 1-D chemical reaction model of urea-SCR catalyst is developed to analyze chemical reactions in the catalyst. We analyze the influence of adsorbed NH_3 distribution in urea-SCR catalyst on NH_3 ship and NOx reduction.Numerical results indicate that NH_3 slip and NOx reduction are improved when there is more amount of adsorbed NH_3 in front than rear of urea-SCR catalyst.
