Abstract
Magnesium is the lightest metal in practical metallic materials. The specific gravity of Magnesium is 1.74, and it is 2/3 of the aluminum. Therefore, Mg has collected the attention as a structural material suitable for the lightening. However, until now Mg alloy was developed from the intensity-based viewpoint, and the development of the alloy which combines characteristics as a functional material is not carried out. Especially, the importance of development of the sintered material of the Mg alloy and tribology research has been indicated from various quarters. Then, we clarified mechanical property and tribology characteristics of variously Mg alloy. (1) The liquid phase sintering was possible for A9-6B(Mg-9wt%Al-6vol%B), and the excellent abrasion resistance was shown. (2) The bending strength of sintering A9-6B was 370MPa, and the Rockwell hardness was 103HRH.
