Abstract
The purpose of the present work is to build up the ductile strong discontinuity modeling for elastoplastic mechanics (Simo et al. 1993) and to develop the modeling to be suited to powder. It is necessary highly that the damage modeling is applied to finite element analysis for cold isostatic pressing of powder in order to forecast the damage of green compact that is produced by spring-back at unloading. A finite element framework for the simulation of crack is based on the strong discontinuity analysis (SDA) of standard local stress-strain constitutive equation and belongs to the family of assumed enhanced strain methods. Take the standard linear triangle as the underlying element, an additional incompatible mode leads to the formulation of powder constitutive equations. The numerical simulation shows the SDA modeling has appropriately captured strong discontinuities.
