Abstract

The present paper describes the noise appeared in measured tooth form. The noise is inevitable, and affects on measurement accuracy. However, the noise could not be determined. Therefore, in the present report, the noise was extracted from flattened tooth form by the moving average method comparing it with raw output from measuring apparatus. As a result, the noise can be considered as random numbers with normal distribution. Furthermore, tooth form can be measured in sufficient accuracy when it is flattened by the moving average method.
