A gas turbine system that makes full use of the cold heat of LNG is studied. Two new style heat exchangers were investigated that exchange heat between air and combustible LNG. Channels of each fluid are structurally independent with each other to improve the safety. Heat transfer characteristics of these heat exchangers were measured to know a special characteristic of these heat exchangers: thermal contact resistance between the tube and the fin at low temperature conditions. The thermal contact resistances at normal temperature were 0.25m^2K/kW for the parallel tube type, and 0.5m^2K/kW for the triple tube type. The resistance augmented at the liquid nitrogen temperature due to thermal shrinkage of the tube. The effect of this augmentation on heat transfer rate of an overall heat exchanger was 13% and 11% respectively, for each heat exchanger type.
