Abstract
One of the main requirements for the successful use of Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) is to divide a whole system into proper subsystems. It is assumed that the couplings between subsystems are weak in SEA. An SEA model without proper subsystems often provides unpleasant analysis results. We had proposed a new method to judge whether the part on a system can be divided into two subsystems in previous paper. In this paper, we first discussed where we apply the impact excitation and where we measure the response in subsystems using Finite Element Method. Then our method was applied to judge the necessity of subdivision of a part of an automobile vehicle. Finally, we demonstrated SEA with high accuracy requires the proper subdivision.
