Abstract
In Japan, there are four regulations which are related to pressure vessel. Technical standards of those and the Japan Industrial Standards in which allowable tensile strength of materials for pressure vessel is stated, have been established based on ASME code. Domestic standards have been revised in order to interface each other and to coordinate with the latest edition of ASME code. Recently, allowable tensile strength of the high chromium steels in the Thermal Power Standard Code has been reduced by review of long-term creep strength with the original analysis method. Self-made standard is of assistance to improve technobgy, performance and reliability of engineering products.
