Abstract
Perfluoropolyether lubricants terminated with alkanolamine end groups were synthesized and the interaction between lubricants and several materials were examined. This study has revealed that the interaction between the lubricant and the disk can be estimated by the interfacial tension and work of adhesion. Besides the bonding property of alkanolamine-terminated lubricants mainly depends on the number of hydroxyl groups, and amine group performs the role to interact with functional groups on the disk surface as well, except OH site.
