Abstract
An accelerated wear test using a constant-area wear bar was developed to study the abrasivity reduction curve of various magnetic tape media. Effects of tape tension, tape speed, temperature, and relative humidity on tape abrasivity were also studied. Comparisons were made between constant-area abrasion test (CAAT) and square-bar abrasion test (SBAT).
