Abstract
An urgent requirement exists to develop a calculation system that can predict the noise of a blade fan attached to a motor shaft. This paper describes two main contents for predicting the dynamic behavior of a blade fan. One is creating a finite-element model (F-E model) of the blade fan and then using the finite-element method (FEM) to determine its vibration modes. The vibration modes calculated with this model were in good agreement with measured ones. The other is calculating the vibration response of a blade fan by using torque pulsation and the F-E model. The torque pulsation can be calculated by using an equivalent electric circuit of the motor. The vibration response values calculated with this method agreed well with experimentally measured ones.
