Abstract
The stability and deformation of the free surfaces of thin liquid films on a solid surface when another solid surface is placed above the liquid film surfaces across a gas were studied for three-dimensional films using a long-wave equation. A linear stability analysis was conducted and deformed surface profiles were calculated numerically
