Abstract
Micromechanical analysis is performed to a composite material containing various orthorhombic reinforcements by using the modified equivalent inclusion method to heat conduction by Hatta Taya. The macroscopic thermal conductivity of the composite can be expressed as a function of the thermal conductivities and aspect ratios of constituents. As a result, the degree of anisotropy on the macroscopic thermal conductivity of the composite may be designed by the choice of the geometry and material of the reinforcement.
