Wood is made from the early part which is soft and the late part which is hard. It is important to measure mechanical properties of the each part, in order to use woods. Therefore in this paper, we investigate an indentation method to measure the Young's modulus of the early part and the late part of the flat grain face of wood material. It is difficult to confirm measured material constant of wood, since the values of those properties are unknown. Thus, we investigate layered specimen of the rubber and the acrylic resin as a wood specimen model. By comparing relationship between load and displacement from experiment and FEM simulation, it is confirmed to give the Young' modulus of the early part and the late part of wood. By an indentation for the wood specimen, the possibility to measure Young's modulus of early and late part is confirmed.
