Abstract
In order to establish simulation techniques for electromagnetic forming, we have carried out a simulation of the electromagnetic flux compression method using a three dimensional finite element method code with capability of the thermal-structural-electromagnetic coupling feature. It is found that the ultra-high magnetic field less than 100 T as a function of the diameter of the coil can be predicted. A discussion is presented to obtain more precise result over 100 T.
