In the present study, the behaviour of the entrapped fluid in the foamed structure associated with the impact compressive deformation was experimentally investigated. The impact test was carried out at the strain rate of 10^3s^<-1> using a Split Hopkinson pressure bar method. The observation of the entrapped fluid in the foamed structure was utilized the schlieren method. Schlieren method is required the density difference in the visualization of entrapped fluid. Therefore, the entrapped fluid in the cell displace with the carbon dioxide gas. In the foamed film with open cell, the outflow of the entrapped fluid was observed after the impact compressive test. On the other hands, it was clarified that the outflow of the entrapped fluid was not observed in the foamed PE film with closed cell, which indicated that the closed cell was not fractured at the impact test.
