Abstract
Unidirectional carbon/epoxy (T700SC/2592) adhesively-bonded by EP008 specimens were evaluated under decreasing energy release rate (G_<max>) conditions. Mixed mode fatigue crack growth behaviour of CFRP adhesive joint were investigated by mixed mode flexure (MMF) test at several loading rate of 0.1Hz, 1.0Hz and 10Hz. Experiments were conducted under linear fracture region. Thus by using compliance method, fatigue crack growth behavior of CFRP adhesive joint can be evaluated from energy release rate (G_<max>) condition for each specimen. Experiment results showed that threshold values did not dependent on loading rate but in higher energy release rate (G_<max>) region, dependency on loading rate has been confirmed. In addition, brittle fracture surfaces were identified when observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM).
