For the structural integrity assessment of the sandwich structural leaf spring installed on the rolling stock bogie "efWING", Electrical Resistance Change Method using the electrical conductivity of carbon fiber has been studied. In the present study, electrical resistance change of fatigue-loaded test coupons is experimentally measured and an inner damage is captured by ultrasonic testing. The relationship between electrical resistance and an inner damage is analytically investigated using FE analysis. As a result, the study shows the electrode producing a high current density in through-thickness direction is effective to detect an inner damage.
