In recent years, biodegradable polymers such as PLLA and PCL have been applied in the field of tissue engineering. In the present research, porous hydroxyapatite (HA) particle filled biopolymer was developed for bone regeneration. Three different biopolymers such as PLLA, PCL and PLLA/PCL blend were used as the matrix material. Mechanical properties were then evaluated under a compressive loading condition and the effects of polymer matrix on the properties were examined. Their microstructures were also characterized using a scanning electron microscope.
