Abstract
This study aims at Cutting Wheel development to realize Ultra-high Speed Cutting (wheel peripheral speed : 400m/s). Using FEM, it was found that good material for wheel core and flange was Titanium alloy or CFRP. Considering this result, two manufacturing methods of Cutting Wheel were our ideas : (1) Sintering to join metal bonded grindstone and titanium alloy core, (2) Curing to join resinoid bonded grindstone and GFRP core. In this study the method (1) was tried. Metal bonded wheel manufactured experimentally using titanium alloy core was success in rotation test (wheel peripheral speed : 450m/s). This paper describes a result of stress analysis using FEM, a manufacturing method, and a result of rotation test.
