Abstract
There is a request for development of the multiple axis machines for machining of the slope surface, freedom curved surface from the Die & mold industry and the Aerospace industry. Especially, Die & Mold industry requires not only high speed finish machining but also heavy duty rough machining. So, we developed 5-axis machining center to be high rigidly which has swivel type head and rotary table. Specially, the turn mechanism of the spindle head uses ball screw drive on the A-axis head swivel. This mechanism is higher rigid than a rack-and-pinion drive, have a high accuracy and more resistant to wear. It is introduced about this new-model 5 axis machining center in this paper.
