Electrolyte jet machining (EJM) with bipolar pulse current and NaNO_3 aqueous solution was applied to machine cemented carbide. In EJM of cemented carbide with bipolar pulse current, duty factor of positive workpiece pulse has an optimum value because lower duty factor results in rough machined surface and higher duty factor spreads the machining area. In bipolar pulse machining with NaNO_3 aqueous solution, machining area is more localized under the jet than that in DC machining with NaOH aqueous solution which is normally used in electrochemical machining of cemented carbide.
