In dental treatment, many methods of treatment using laser beam were supposed. However, the effects on oral tissues by laser beam irradiation have not investigated yet. In this study, surface temperature of human dentin during CO_2 laser beam irradiation was measured and alteration mechanism of oral tissue was investigated. As a result, carbonization of dentin surface by CO_2 laser beam irradiation occurred at over 250℃ and evaporation occurred at over 1200℃. Additionally, evaporation volume increased with increasing the surface temperature.
