Abstract
In recent years, new usage of Wire Electric Discharge Machining(WEDM) is expected for rough machining of difficult-to-cut materials such as aircraft parts. Therefore, we are developing new WEDM based on multi-axis control process. So, a new machine tool for multi-axis controlled WEDM process has been developed. The machine tool has 2-axis tilt and rotary tables and it can change the wire posture against workpiece surface. However, it is difficult to plan the path and the posture of wire avoiding the interference with the workpiece while continuously changing the posture. Thus, we propose a new planning method. This method is realized while solving the difficult problem.
