In this paper, we present a perfusable collagen tube device for 3D tissue culture mimicking tissue microenvironment in vivo. Three important concepts of cell culture environment in our device are (1) collagen, (2) 3D culture, and (3) perfusability. This tube-shaped device is composed of a collagen hydrogel sandwiched between two small pieces of a silicone tube. The device was fabricated by molding with inner and outer glass capillaries. We fabricated three types of collagen tube devices having different diameters. We successfully confirmed that we can perfuse solution in the collagen tube device by connecting the device with syringes via the silicon tubes. Our collagen tube device could be powerful tool for evaluating drug efficacy using in vitro 3D tissue models.
