Abstract
The wavelength division multiplexer (WDM) is key component to multiplex optical signals onto a single optical fiber for high speed and large capacity communication in fiber-optic-based information systems. In WDM component, wavelength locker is an important device to stabilize the wavelength in optical fiber. For the purpose of cost reduction in the WDM component, a new photonic absorber is proposed in this report. The photonic absorber was consisted of gold nano-fin array to absorb specific wavelength in infrared region. Our photonic absorbers were fabricated through wet etching process following gallium ion doping with the focused ion beam workstation. The measured optical absorbance spectra of our photonic absorber and mechanical resonant frequencies of optomechanical resonator were evaluated in our work. The estimated wavelength resolution of our resonator was 0.2 pm in near infrared region.
