In this study, a wearable ECG with ultra stretchable electrodes was developed. In medical uses, the position of the electrodes should be altered according to symptom of cardiac disorders. In order to realize the large deformation of electrodes, we took advantage of electrodes using the liquid metal. Electrodes were fabricated by injecting liquid metal into microchannels made in silicone rubber substrates. In addition, the robust connections composed of carbon conductive rubber between electrodes and system was developed for withstanding stress by stretching electrodes. Those electrodes could stretch by 200%. The device showed differences of ECG depending on the position of electrodes.
