In the present study, stress-strain behaviors of an adhesive layer specimen under pure shear loading conditions were measured at various constant strain rates. These shear stress-shear strain curves were evaluated on the basis of overstress theory. In order to determine the functions included in the overstress theory, stress, relaxation tests under pure shear loading conditions were conducted at various constant shear strains. From these results, the effects of strain rates, on the stress-strain behavior of the adhesive layer under pure shear stress conditions, were investigated.
