抄録

In order to examine the compatibility of improvement of crashworthiness with weight-saving of automobiles by using high strength steel, new prediction model of the fracture strength of spot weld in automobile parts has been established. By using of this model, we can predict exact crush mode and absorbed energy of the crash parts with spot weld fracture. Therefore, we can simulate optimum design of the spot weld of the automobile parts. It was confirmed that stress concentration between the nugget of spot weld and the specimen controls fracture initiation of spot weld. We installed fracture prediction system based on this model to crash analysis solver and confirmed that this system predicts exactly the fracture of spot weld. These prediction systems are applicable to respective high strength steels.
