The impact pressure of the cavitation jet stream in water jet was evaluated by using brick as a target for water jet peeing. The first peak and the second peak of the impact pressure in cavitation jet could be recognized. Furthermore, the life time of fretting fatigue on compressor dovetail was investigated after performing water jet peening. As a result of reducing the residual tensile stress of contact surface, it was clearly shown that a crack initiation life would be extended.
