Casting of magnesium alloy strip was tried using a vertical type high speed twin roll caster. The process to make magnesium alloy strip of the present study was very simple. Thin strip of magnesium alloy strip could be cast from molten metal directly. The casting speed was up to 150m/min, and thickness was thinner than 2 mm. A high cooling ability of the roll and low superheat enabled the high speed casting. The microstructure of as cast strip was not columnar structure but equiaxed structure. Thickness was reduced down to 0.5 mm by three times of hot rolling. Deep drawing was operated, and 2.0 of LDR value could be attained.
