Boron fiber reinforced Al matrix composites were fabricated by a pulsed current hot pressing (PCHP) process at a pressure of 32MPa for 600s. Well bonding between the fiber and matrix was obtained by PCHP at a holding temperature of 773K. Interfacial reaction between the fiber and matrix was negligible. Tensile tests were carried out at room temperature for the composites fabricated by PCHP at 773K. Tensile Yield stress of the composites containing 17.2 vol.% boron fiber attained at 600MPa. This value was about 90% of the tensile strength calculated by the force equilibrium equation of a composite along with the fiber axis direction.
