In order to form thin sheet metals for a separator of a fuel cell by stamping, a servo press was employed and press motion was controlled. Multi-stage forming and changing stopping time of the ram at the bottom dead point were carried out and forming accuracy was studied. SUS304 stainless sheets with a thickness of 0.2 mm were employed for specimens. In multi-stage forming, number of pressing was changed from 1 to 3 times. As number of pressing stages increased, the distortion of formed sheet was lowered and forming accuracy was improved. When the ram was paused during forming at the bottom dead point for 10 seconds, the spring back of the formed sheets was reduced.
