Abstract
FEM simulation and experiment for rotary swaging process of SUS304 stainless steel round bar was carried out and the formed shapes were compared with. The diameter of the bar was 2.5 mm and the length was 100 mm. Rotation rate of the dies was 500 rpm and the feed rate was 50 mm / min. Since real coefficient of shear friction was unknown, the one was changed from 0 to 0.2 in the calculation. When the coefficient of shear friction was set to 0.1 in the calculation, the calculated and experimental shape was similar. But the twisted angles in calculation and experiment were different. To improve the calculation accuracy of the twisted angle, it is necessary that the actual dies motion should be taken into account for the calculation.
