Abstract

In order to develop the environmental barrier coating for ceramic matrix composite, effect of high temperature oxidation on the pore structure of atmospheric plasma sprayed Mullite (3Al₂O₃-SiO₂) coating and BSAS (BaO-SrO-Al₂O₃-2SiO₂ ) coating was investigated. Free-standing Mullite and BSAS coating specimens were prepared and the cross-sectional SEM observation was carried out to analyse the pore structure of coating.
