Penetrating tool friction stir incremental forming with four types of tool paths were carried out. A1050-O sheets with size of 200 mm x 200 mm 2 mm were employed for specimen. In order to clarify the material transportation around the tool, distributions of thickness in the Z direction along to radial direction of formed sheet were evaluated. The effect of tool rotation rate was also investigated. As a result, it was found that the material shortage caused by excess material transportation was a cause fracture in the sheet. Although fracture due to material shortage was successfully prevented by the improvement of tool path, more gusty fracture occurred at the part the tool path closed up.
