The environmental changes in the global level are now affecting the human social activities in various fields. And the automotive industry is no exception. It is definitely affected by such changes. We must respond to such radical changes. And to make it possible, I would like to give an outline of the trend in the automobile transmission field and its core technology of gear. Especially, I would like to give an account to the relevance of Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) and the gear technology that manages both power faculty and fuel efficiency of automobiles.
