The purpose of the present study is development of a computer design system of the hypoid gears which enables tooth bearing, tooth root stress, tooth contact stress, and so on to be evaluateded with the finite element analysis. For this purpose, a tooth flank film elements are used for representing the boundary conditions on the meshing tooth flank. For the first step of the investigation, the program for generating the tooth flank film elements of hypoid gears has been developed. However, serious bugs were found in the program. Therefore, there is no results in the present report.
