Abstract
Micro traction drive is a device to transmit driving force modified from angular ball bearing. The traction force is applied with the pre-load between inner lace and outer lace as thrust force. The driving force is transmitted by the contact of the retainer with the rolling element in rotating direction. Experiment for micro traction drive using angular ball bearing of 10 mm in inner diameter, 30 mm in outer diameter and 9 mm in width was carried out, and was compared to that for equivalent planetary gear head. Featuring small size high torque, high number of revolution, low noise & low vibration, micro traction drive is expected as the alternative transmission of small size planetary gear.
