In order to investigate the influence of dispersed particles on friction and wear of electroless composite plating, two-roller test was carried out under oil lubricating condition and in vacuum. The dispersed particles were PTFE and SiC. In vacuum, the friction coefficient decreased and the wear increased, with increasing content of dispersed particles. Under oil lubrication, the friction was low and the wear increased at comparatively early stage in only the case of a particle-content of 30%. Stresses in the plated layer were calculated with FEM. The maximum Mises stress in the plated layer increased with increasing content of dispersed particles.
