Molding conditions influences the thickness of deformed layer of plastic gear. The authors have demonstrated that the noise level of the gear with thick deformed layer becomes low. In this study, the operation tests by using the pair of gears of same resin and the pair of gears of different resin were performed to confirm noise and wear. This experiment also showed that noise level of a gear pair of a different material became lower than the gear pair of the same material, and that the amount of wear of driving gear increased rather than the driven gear with comparatively high torque.
