Abstract
This paper presents an overview of an integrated manufacturing simulation taking the Supply Chain Management Model (SCM in short) that consists of Head Quarters, a Motor Supplier, a Transportation Network and an Assembly Plant centering on the Motor Supplier model studied and developed by Makino. There naturally exist several distributed simulation systems to be integrated with each other in the SCM. NIST computer scientists developed a neutral architecture and supporting software, and interfaces for integrating distributed simulation so that every participant in the SCM could independently work out each own simulation model. The simulation models described in this paper were developed as part of the international IMS MISSION project.
