Abstract
A model-based information exchange infrastructure using XML technologies for FA systems is discussed by FA Open Systems Promotion Forum (FAOP). Then a concept of the information exchange infrastructure among schedulers, MESs, and production equipments using XML description is developed. The model of the information exchange infrastructure consists of a production equipment model and engineering information model. This paper describes overview of the production equipment model, the engineering information model, and developing activities of these models by FAOP.
