Abstract
This paper proposes a problem definition, modeling, and approach to production planning problems in manufacturers who have build-to-order (BTO) or finish-to-order (FTO) production systems. Especially, Master Production Scheduling (MPS) is the target of this paper, focusing a product family that has variety of different final products. This paper shows equations for inventory level in several perspectives, so as to clarify Available-To-Promise (ATP) by considering the order management. Using ATP, the paper discusses a sophisticated algorithm that decides whether or not a customer order is accepted. Finally, concluding remarks shows many future works.
