Abstract
An evaluation system of product accuracies for end mill operation is introduced. This system consists of three modules: a machine tool simulator, geometric simulator and physical simulator. In this paper, a geometric model of a machining center to estimate cutting point errors, a machining error model due to tool deformations and a calculation method for copying the errors to workpiece is described. The feasibility of the developed system is also demonstrated by a simple machining example.
