This study formulates a scheduling problem for an RGV system composed of multiple RGVs and a loop track rail as a mixed-integer-programming problem. Computational experiments are then conducted to reveal the relationship between the number of RGVs and the makespan of an established transportation schedule. This relationship facilitates to estimate the transport capacity and to determine the appropriate number of RVGs to be introduced into the system.
