Past human machine interfaces have often been inconvenient to operators in nuclear power plants in the sense that they were unpleasant to use. This issue has been created by the gap between designer and user. Such an approach would suggest participation of users in future HMI design. All consider comprehension by average operators and cognitive workload in use for diagnosis.
