Abstract
Hitachi has developed new inspection techniques for the reactor components of the BWR power plants. The flaw detection and depth sizing on the primary loop recirculation (PLR) pipe and core shroud have been performed with these techniques. In this paper, (1) the improvement and application of the UT technique for the reactor components of BWR, (2) development of the EGT technique for core shroud, (3) future development on the inspection fields are described. The detection and the sizing accuracy of UT have been improved by application of the new technique and improved procedure. The profiles of the surface cracks were clearly obtained by the ECT technique.
